Zion National Park Photography Workshop

by Jeff

Zion National Park is a landscape photographer’s dream. Towering spires, colorful canyon walls, and incredible light is just part of what awaits.

Autumn is a wonderful time to visit Zion, with fall foliage adding its accent to the already incredible colors of the sandstone cliffs.

We’ll spend time in Zion Canyon photographing along the banks of the Virgin River, and visit such places as the Temple of Sinewava, Temples of the Virgin, The Court of the Patriarchs, the Kolob Canyons, Checkerboard Mesa, and more.

We’ll also make an early (really early) morning trek to Bryce Canyon National Park to photograph the incredible hoodoos at sunrise, truly an icon for landscape photographers.

This is one of America’s most spectacular areas, so we’ll be focusing on landscape photography and discussing the techniques that will help you capture the vision in your mind’s eye.

Some of these techniques include hyperfocal focusing for images that are sharp from foreground to background, and using specialized filters and digital techniques to capture the wide range of light found here.
